Preparing a hot meal, driving passengers to the food pantry, or spending a night as an overnight attendant are all ways that individuals can serve as a volunteer at the Men's Winter Refuge.
Bus drivers
Every Wednesday year-round, we provide free rides to the Lord's Cupboard food pantry. Volunteer drivers are always welcome to provide these rides. The shift is roughly 3 hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No special driver's license is required to drive our
14-passenger van. For information, call our executive director Mike Zimmer at 701-822-2585.

Overnight attendants
Each night from Nov. 1 thru April 30, men or women age 21-over are needed for overnight shifts from roughly 7 pm to 5 am. (hours can be flexible on either end depending on your availability). The atmosphere is very safe and comfortable, as all of our residents are background checked and are required to be clean and sober. Volunteers work in a comfortable living room setting with WiFi, a desktop PC, big-screen TV with streaming options and a large selection of DVD/blue-ray movies.
